This year, we decided to refrain from giving Christmas presents and to donate a larger sum of money to Anna instead. Back in May 2015, when she was a 22-year-old student, Anna had a serious mountain bike accident, which changed her life for ever. Diagnosed with paraplegia, she has since been wheelchair-bound, but she is determined to escape this fate. At the time of her accident, Anna had almost finished her degree in biomedical analytics at Steyr University of Applied Sciences and had already found a job. Then her life changed completely in the blink of an eye, along with that of her whole family. Unfortunately, Anna had no accident insurance. To date, her parents have covered all the medical fees and costs for treatments and therapeutic appliances. Anna is the life partner of one of our employees, which is why her tragic accident affected us so deeply. 

I am truly grateful to ESA for the company's support. Due to the therapies and necessary adaptations (car, apartment) for a barrier-free, independent life, I can really do with all the help I can get.
