Process automation
for a modern premix plant

As part of the Erber-Group, Biomin is one of the world's leading providers in the animal nutrition industry and is represented in over 140 countries. The focus is on the production of sustainable and high quality feed additives and premixes for healthy and profitable animal production.

With the new production site in Haag am Hausruck, Upper Austria, the group has invested a double-digit million amount in the sustainable expansion of the Austrian site. The declared aim was to build one of the most modern mineral feed production plants in the world - largely automated.

ESA was commissioned with the process automation of the new plant in spring 2019. In the now almost 20 years of cooperation, this is the eighth location that has been equipped with ESA technology. An exemplary concept could be put into practice by March 2020, a lead time of less than a year. The high demands placed on modern system technology were broken down into well-considered process steps and formed into an efficient overall concept.

From the receipt of goods to the finished end product, all production processes are automated with the ESA process control system ESAweight 9. The material is provided with the material flow manager ESAmfm and the freely definable transport strategies.
